Tomorrow, April 21, will be the one year anniversary of On a Silent Sea. And it just feels so appropo to end it on that day. I experienced a tremendous amount of growth in this little space. What started out as a documentation of my efforts to transition my family to a Waldorf-inspire- and Traditional-Food family quickly became a sacred place where I shared my dreams, my nightmares, my insecurities and my strengths. But now I am born again. To use the stages of infant growth and development as a metaphor for where I am right now in my life: I can sit up, but I’m ready to crawl. And once I learn to crawl, I will walk. And once I can walk, I will run. I can’t wait to run.

The visions are becoming clearer. The truths are being made evident. Though this year is 1/4 of the way over already, I see big things ahead before the end of 2010. I really do. Last year was about rediscovery. This year is about action.

And I thank You. Whether you started reading my words 6 months ago or 6 days ago–thank You. Your encouragment, support, jokes, smiles, and even your silence (I’m talking to you lurkers who never comment), have made such an incredible impact upon me. I hope you continue to share with me, walk with me, leap with me. I’ll be here: www.storiesofsommer.com. I’ll see ya there.

I didn’t anything too exciting this week. I wanted to try oil pastels on canvas…just wanted to experiment with a different type of surface. I think I really like the results!

What’s inside my purse?

I’m actually going to post something fun instead of depressing for a change. Amber at Making the Moments Count tagged for this fun little meme. I’m supposed to describe to you the inside of my purse. However, being a mother of 2 means that I don’t carry a purse–and neither does Amber. So she came up with her imaginary purse, and I shall do the same.

What my imaginary purse would look like:

Yep. A Coach. It is imaginary, right? So I’m going to imagine that I have enough money to spend on this lovely bag. And inside this imaginary purse:

*Wallet.
*A sparkling new Blackberry.
*Powder compact.
*Lipgloss (the 5 pack of Bobbi Brown that I buy each fall).
*3 Blistex.
*Eucerin because I have incredibly dry hands.
*2 Uni-ball vision pens in black.
*2 Moleskins.
*Ipod (to replace the one I lost).
*Camera.
*And probably a couple of library books.

That was fun! And girly…I haven’t shopped for a purse in a long time…maybe one day I’ll treat myself to one again Thanks, Amber!

Finally admitted to myself that I’ve been rapid-cycling. Made an appointment to see psychiatrist next month. (Why do psychs always have such long wait-lists?!) Her name is Pellegrini…which made me laugh beause it’s the plural form of Pellegrino (if one pluralizes the brand in italian)…but it’s funny, right? Cause that means she’s a bunch of bottles of water. That’s probably not funny to you. I’m just a word-nerd.

Dammit. I hate when my husband’s right. Funny thing is, I was actually thinking that very same thought earlier in the day. For the past 12 months I’ve been digging, digging, digging; soul-searching; seeking truth; finding inspiration. Repeatedly lighting my fire only to have it doused by a quick, unexpected rain. Me = hamster running in a wheel.

It’s funny. Or maybe not. But I hate how (at least for me) the bigger the dream, the more intense the fear.

Stories of Sommer is my next chapter; a bridge to my next destination–a destination unknown. Every morning I write my pages, recite my affirmations, fill my head with dreams and inspiration hoping that it leads me to the divine.
